In addition to our normal activities to engage the community in the preservation of their heritage, we also have a number of special projects on the go at any one time. Depending on what the project is, we have need for carpenters, painters, gardeners, arborists, and any number of helpful hands.
Here are some of our current projects:
Our protected property on the Lower Oxtongue River has been a focal point of human activity for thousands of years. Read the Lower Oxtongue River Heritage Paddle Tour Map & Guide to learn about the history.
An important part of our mandate is to build the resources to deliver education programmes to protect the natural and community heritage of the Lake of Bays region, and to undertake special projects each year to advance this goal.
Lake of Bays has an incredible history. But if it is not documented it will fade with time. Each year the Foundation researches and records the history of a Lake of Bays community.
